You have heard that it was said to the ancients: ‘You shall not murder; but whoever murders shall be liable to judgement.’ But I say to you: whoever is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgement; and whoever says to his brother, ‘You fool!’ shall be liable to the Sanhedrin; but whoever says to him, ‘You idiot!’ shall be liable to the fire of hell.

If you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar; go and be reconciled to your brother first, then come and offer your gift!
